KENILWORTH – Township of Wellington North Council and staff continue with budget deliberations at a Budget Open House scheduled for February 18, 2016 at the Kenilworth Municipal Office. The Open House will provide an overview of the budget process and a summary of the proposed 2016 Budget for the Township.
The budget reflects a 4% levy increase over the 2015 budget levy which results in an additional $259,000 levy dollars. On an average residential assessment of $227,484 this will result in a 2.1% increase in Township taxes or approximately $24.00. Combined with County and Education taxes residential properties will be impacted with an approximately $60.00 increase in total taxes from 2015.
Open house begins at 7:00pm on February 18th 2016 in Council Chambers at 7490 Sideroad 7 W., Kenilworth, ON.

Grey County OPP have issued a retraction and correction about the status of the 88-year old victim from yesterday morning’s Hwy 6 collision.
The 88-year old victim involved in the motor vehicle collision on Hwy. 6 Tuesday morning is reported to be in critical condition and is being transferred to a London Hospital.
Grey County OPP had reported that the victim had died while in hospital, which was incorrect.
Grey County OPP with the assistance of the OPP West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Team (TTCI) are investigating a motor vehicle collision on Hwy. 6 south of Grey Rd. 6 in the Township of Southgate.
At approximately 9:15 am this morning, Grey County OPP, the Wellington North Fire Services and Paramedics from Guelph-Wellington EMS responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Hwy 6 and Grey Rd. 109. Preliminary investigation has determined that a Dodge Caravan was travelling west bound on Grey Rd. 109 when it entered the intersection at Hwy 6 and collided with a Toyota Corolla which was travelling southbound on Hwy 6. Hwy 6 and Grey Rd. 109 were closed for most of the day while the investigation took place.
The lone 29-year old female driver of the Toyota was not injured.
The lone 88-year old female driver of the Dodge Caravan did not appear to be injured but was transported to hospital as a precaution.
