Record Year for Warm Winter Wishes!

The Warm Winter Wishes students at Wellington Heights School in Mount Forest have raised and astounding $42,477.39 this season. Organizers thank the students for their teamwork and generosity as well that of the teachers, parents and community members. Local businesses and corporate partners raised $17,400 and the rest was done by student fundraisers over the last 5 weeks.

Mount Forest Fire

Antiques and Accents on Main Street in the south end of Mount Forest has suffered extensive damage after a fire last night. Wellington North Fire Services were dispatched just after 4:00 PM December 8 and arrived to find the back of the building fully engulfed in flames. Guelph Wellington EMS transported one female to hospital due to smoke inhalation, she has since been released. Crews from Arthur and Harriston were brought in to help battle the blaze. Cause is believed to be accidental but Fire Chief Dave Guilbault and Fire Prevention Officer Marco Guidotti will investigate today. Damage is estimated to be at $250,000.
