A private, local collection of Elvis Presley memorabilia will be on display at the Wellington County Museum and Archives this summer.
Local collector Rick Clark will be displaying his collection in the latest installation of the Wellington County Collects exhibit series.
Opening Saturday, July 22, Cola Goes Better with Elvis includes stories from Clark and memorabilia highlighting the history of Presley and his favourite beverage. The exhibit will also feature a colouring wall and an area to listen to Elvis’ music and learn about the different albums on display.
Clark said, “It truly was a lot of fun collecting Coca-Cola and Elvis Presley paraphernalia and memorabilia items over the years.”
Wellington County Collects is a community programme the Museum launched in 2013 that features collections from local residents.
Assistant Curator Amy Dunlop said, “We are excited to have Rick’s collection on display. We hope this will inspire visitors to reflect on their own collections and stories as important parts of Wellington County’s history and culture.”
The exhibit runs until January 14, 2024. Learn more at wellington.ca/rickclarkcollection/
