At yesterday’s meeting, County Council adopted the Wellington County Strategic Action Plan outlining the direction the County will take over the remaining term of Council.
The County enlisted the support of Ottawa-based firm McSweeney and Associates to create the plan, “Proudly Moving Forward Together,” an update to the 2019-2022 plan.
The plan outlines four priority sectors with strategic actions; To continue working to ensure all residents have a safe place to call home; In those communities poised to grow, help manage community expectations; Ensure long-term financial sustainability; and focus on people as the main driving force behind the County.
Warden Andy Lennox said, “The County will use this plan to set corporate priorities and to build a strong foundation to move forward on.”

Also during the meeting, Ipsos presented the results of the 2023 Wellington County Citizen Satisfaction Survey.
The survey was conducted between April 25 and May 31.
The Executive Summary concluded the quality of life the County has to offer is a major highlight for residents.
Overall level of satisfaction with the services provided is high.
Residents are optimistic about the County’s future, and most think it is possible to achieve a balance between growth and quality of life.
Warden Lennox said, “The results of this survey have identified opportunities and challenges for County Council to address.”
