CUPE files notice of strike action

Negotiations between the Ontario government and the Canadian Union of Public Employees have broken down, and CUPE have filed a five-day notice to return to strike action.
CUPE released a statement today.
Minister of Education Stephen Lecce said the government is “very disappointed” by what it calls an “unnecessary” decision to strike.
The CUPE represents 55,000 workers in the education sector.
