Thanks to a year of successful fundraising efforts, the Louise Marshall Hospital Auxiliary was able to present the LMH Foundation with a donation of $17,100 in support of priority capital equipment last week.

In addition to running the Gift Shop at the Louise Marshall Hospital, the Auxiliary holds a number of fundraisers throughout the year to garner support for the hospital. This includes a Quilt Raffle, a Spring Luncheon, November Bazaar, and a regular booth at the Wellington North Farmer’s Market. These fundraising efforts are carried out entirely by a team of dedicated Auxiliary volunteers.

This year’s donation will help fund upgrades to the hospital’s Omnicell server, with any remaining funds to be directed to the highest priority equipment needs. Omnicell is a medication management system utilized by the hospital, which provides safe and secure storage, and assists in the accurate dispensing of medications.

Amy Van Huss, Development Officer for the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation, was on hand to receive the cheque from Auxiliary volunteers, and said, “We are so grateful for the continued support and dedication of our Auxiliary partners.  In addition to their fundraising efforts, they also provide volunteer support at the hospital, greeting patients and visitors as they arrive. We all appreciate their care and good humour.”

The Gift Shop at Louise Marshall Hospital is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and carries a wide selection of gifts and comfort items.
