It was announced last night, as a result of a staffing shortage, the Louise Marshall Hospital Emergency Department will be closed overnight tonight, starting at 7 p.m., until 7 a.m. tomorrow morning.
Anyone with a medical emergency is asked to call 9-1-1. Ambulances will remain available, and will be re-routed to nearby hospitals to ensure residents continue to have access to emergency services they need.
For non-urgent health care, call Health Connect Ontario at 811, available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions.
The closest other Emergency Departments to Mount Forest are: Palmerston & District Hospital, South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Durham; Listowel Memorial Hospital; Hanover and District Hospital; South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Walkerton; Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, and Wingham and District Hospital.
Other hospitals may also be experiencing temporary closures due to staffing shortages, confirm they’re open before heading out.
