As a result of the ongoing staffing shortage, Mount Forest’s Louise Marshall Hospital Emergency Department will close on Saturday, September 16th at 5 a.m., reopening on Monday, September 18th at 7 a.m.
The department will be closed all day Sunday.
Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency. Ambulances will remain available, and will re-route to surrounding hospitals.
For non-urgent health care, call Health Connect Ontario at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions.
The closest Emergency Departments to Mount Forest are Palmerston & District Hospital, Listowel Memorial Hospital, Hanover and District Hospital,
South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Walkerton, Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, and Wingham and District Hospital.
Other hospitals may also be experiencing closures due to staffing, so call ahead before travelling.
