The Mount Forest Patriots find themselves in the unenviable position of facing elimination this evening in their quarter-final Schmalz Cup series with the Stayner Siskins.

Stayner took a commanding 3-1 series lead with a 6-3 win last night in game 4 in their home rink.

Stayner opened the scoring and jumped to an early lead but Mount Forest stayed on pace with the speedy Siskins club. In the end it just wasn’t enough.

Elijah Brahaney scored twice in the losing cause.

Tonight’s puck-drop is scheduled for 8pm at the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex.

In the other quarter-finals, Clarington, Wellesley and Lakeshore(Belle River) have already advanced to the Schmalz Cup final four tournament.
