Last Wednesday afternoon, there was a house fire on Wellington Road 109, between Hwy. 6 and Line 1, near Arthur.
Wellington North Fire Deputy Director Callise Loos said, “Great work with crews on scene performing roof operations contained fire to the attic above the garage, with no spread to the house.”
There was some minor smoke damage to the house. The cause was determined to be accidental, with damage estimates set around $50,000.
All occupants were safely evacuated from the home, and there were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. Loos also thanked Centre Wellington for tanker support.
