There was a carjacking in Orangeville on Monday afternoon.
The accused tricked the victim to pull over, saying there was an issue with their tire. Once the victim pulled over and got out of the vehicle to take a look, the accused jumped into the driver’s seat.
A ten-year-old child was in the vehicle at the time, and his father says the son had to leap out as the man began to drive away.
On Tuesday, police were able to arrest the person who was identified. They were in possession of drugs, cash, and a prohibited weapon, along with breaching numerous conditions.
Police executed a search warrant at a home in Orangeville, and seized clothing, along with stolen credit cards.
A 36-year-old from Orangeville faces a long list of charges, and was held for a Bail Hearing.
