Around 6:45 a.m. this morning, Wellington County OPP responded to a serious collision at the intersection of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Erin-Garfraxa Townline Road, north of Erin. Initial reports indicated a pickup truck had left the roadway and there were serious injuries.
Emergency services responded and the driver and passenger were transported to a local hospital. The passenger, a 76-year-old from Erin, was pronounced deceased. The driver was treated for minor injuries.
The intersection was closed for West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team reconstructionists to mid day. The Office of the Chief Coroner was notified.
