Wellington County OPP is investigating two overnight incidents in Erin this week involving a U-Haul truck.
Around 11 p.m. Monday night February 20th, several people went to a business on Erin Park Drive in Erin, in a U-Haul truck. Two suspects seen with the U-Haul didn’t manage to steal anything, but caused approximately $25,000 in damage. A second vehicle, possibly a 2005 black Subaru Forester reported stolen from the Nottawasaga area, was also seen in the parking lot with the U-Haul. Then, around 4 a.m. yesterday morning, the U-Haul and the suspects attended another business on Erin Park Drive. This time, they got inside, and stole a black 2013 Dodge Caravan and a white 2009 Chevrolet Express Van. A business logo that consisted of a black circle with white writing was painted on the back of the Chevrolet van. The U-Haul has been recovered. However, police are looking to identify two suspects, and find the other vehicles. One suspect was wearing a patterned face mask, a dark-coloured baseball cap, a dark-coloured hoodie and pants, and tan boots. The second suspect was wearing black and red gloves, a grey Adidas hoodie, dark-coloured pants and white high-top sneakers. Wellington County OPP is continuing to investigate. They’re asking anyone in the area to check surveillance footage between 10:30 p.m. Monday, and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday February 21st. ——-Police are investigating after a U-Haul truck was used in two incidents in Erin
