On Thursday, Aug. 24, from noon to 1 p.m., there will be an event in Mount Forest to honour International Overdose Awareness Day/Drug Poisoning Awareness Day.
Community members, families, service providers and others will gather on the block of King Street North of Main Street, to grieve and pay respects to those who have lost their life due to drug poisoning. More information can be found at wgdrugstrategy.ca.
The event will include acknowledging those lost to drug poisoning and/or substance challenges; An opportunity to share experiences of loss and grief; A chance to dedicate a song in memory of a loved one; A die-in, and a minute of silence.
