The Wellington County Museum and Archives won the Top Small Museum/Art Gallery/Historic Site at last week’s 2024 Ontario’s Choice Awards. This accolade, awarded by Attractions Ontario, recognizes the WCMA’s outstanding contributions to preserving and sharing the rich history of Wellington County.
The Ontario’s Choice Awards are unique in their selection process, relying solely on public votes to determine winners across various categories.
Information, Heritage and Seniors Chair Mary Lloyd said, “To be on a short list of winners that includes the Aga Khan Museum and the Toronto Zoo reflects the dedication of our team and the ongoing support of our visitors and community.”
The WCMA’s victory highlights its role as a cherished cultural and historical resource in Wellington County. The museum’s engaging exhibits, festivals and events, educational programs, and commitment to preserving local heritage have garnered enthusiastic support from the public.
In addition, the museum was also nominated for the Top Museum/Art Gallery/Historic Site category.
